Seven Days Short Story Collection
My months of Short Story blitzing over summer 2006 resulted in a bursting portfolio of shorts and some rather exciting news regarding one of the stories. Originally titled Ninety-Five my 9000 word story features an elderly lesbian reminiscing on her long life while also dealing with the mundane incidents characteristic of living in a residential home. I sent it to Legend Press after seeing a feature on them in Writers News.
Following the success of The Remarkable Everyday, their 2006 short story anthology, Legend put out a call for submissions to their proposed 2007 short story collection. The premise given was to take a character and detail his or her life through the course of one day. I wrote the story, submitted it and then went on to my next story. I was very excited weeks later to recieve an email from Tom Chalmers, managing director of Legend Press, saying that they would like to include my story in the collection.
