Some of My Cartoons Sometimes I do small single-size toons like this biker: But my cartoons are often A4 page size, like the one shown opposite. This is part of a story-toon that was based on a true story of someone having a tattoo done. I do have some cartoons that are post-card size, which I have scanned for this page. The quality is deliberately low so that no-one decides to nick them. I have repeated any words that appear in the toon, in case they are unreadable.

Lately I work with image software to create cartoons that are based on photographs, such as this one which was published in Velvet Magazine, issue 5, August 2005.

I designed this Mona Lisa wearing a lesbian tee-shirt image in 1995, but the quality of the image I had at the time was poor, so I redid it in 2006 and now use it as my avatar on WritersBeat.com. See My Writing Portfolio for more about Velvet and WritersBeat.

I also love to make other photo-based cartoons, such as LOLcats, (see >^..^< Josie and the LOLcats >^..^<). I find this exciting and versatile, but I still like to hand draw designs. Using graphics software makes it more flexible. I often hand draw something and then scan it in to use. See also my Animations Page for toons that I have animated.

This one was published in the Staffs Uni Students' Union magazine Drop Out in 1995. I also had one published in Get Knotted, another Staffs Uni Students' Union magazine.

This one I've been planning to make into a postcard. And it's not based on a true story, I have to say.
